2004 John Suhr Custom Stratocaster

My Indoor Storm story: About 4-5 years ago I was browsing the shop and came across a lefty Suhr strat. Pretty pricey, but I immediately fell in love with the feel and tone of the thing--sunburst finish, satin neck, big frets, exactly my kind of guitar. So, thinking it might take me a little time to sell some gear and get the money together, I ask Eddie if anybody has been looking at it and he says that it's been there for over 9 months and virtually nobody has even picked it up let alone made an offer. I tell Eddie that I'll be back in a few weeks with the money, but to immediately call me if anybody starts looking at it, and I'll put it on a credit card. I go home and tell my wife about my plan. I checked on the web site a few weeks later, and the pic of the guitar is gone and it says 'sold.' I call Eddie and am not happy, and maybe even a little rude. Eddie apologizes, saying some guy from Norway bought it over the web and he never knew about it and had no control. Bummed, to say the least. Of course, the rest of the story is that it shows up under the tree the next Christmas. Yeah, my wife is the 'dude from Norway' and Eddie played the part perfectly. I don't think they make wives like that any more, and I'm forever grateful to Eddie for playing along.
